Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program Taiwan (STIPT)
Would you like to gain unique insights into cutting-edge production and research in the semiconductor industry while acquiring important skills for your professional career? You are studying at an eligible university? Then apply for the Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program Taiwan (STIPT). This Saxon-Taiwanese program is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), the Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism (SMWK), the TU Dresden, and the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC). It includes a study program as well as practical training at TSMC, a global leader in the semiconductor sector.
The program involves cooperation with Taiwanese universities. Since 2024, the ➚National Taiwan University (NTU) is a partner. In 2025, the ➚National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST or Taiwan Tech) and the ➚National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) were added. In 2026 the ➚National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) will join the program.
Since 2024 many students have already spent a semester in Taiwan and completed their practical training at the chip manufacturer TSMC. Tagesschau met five of them on site and interviewed them about their experiences. To the ➚Tagesschau article.
